Universal Century or Alternate Timeline ?

Hello guys, today I'd like to share about the difference between UC timeline and Alternate timeline in Gundam Universe. So yeah, it's just my opinion.

UC Timeline

The story in the UC is kinda dramatic. The battle and the mechanical things look conventional but very realistic. Yes, it’s because the thrusters, the bullet and other things are exist in real world. Unlike the alternate series that used so many imaginary things. 

The design of the MS is once again realistic. Usually the joints has the piston and hoses, the armor has visible panel line, and the weapons just realistic. The normal weapons for example like on RX Gundams are beam rifle, bazooka and shield. The bazooka usually still fires out bullet with smoky propulsion effect. The head or the body usually mounted with machine gun for anti missile combat. Everything looks realistic on this timeline. 

Although there are some series that use futuristic design and mechanical things like Unicorn. It has the glowing psychoframe thing that a little bit unrealistic. But still the story is dramatic and the design of the MS is the standart of UC. The series dominated with the battle of the good side Earth Federation vs the bad side Zeon. The design of the characters also similar for each series.

Alternate Timeline

This timeline usually has futuristic designed MS and effects. The MS has less detail for the armor and the joints. The MS design looks very nice with the unrealistic parts. The movement of the MS also improved due to the futuristic mechanical it has. So the movement is more natural and agile. The battle also has wider range and has more variety with the advanced technology it has. 

The battle effects usually dominated with beams effect and particle effects. So the battle looks interesting and colorful. The weapons of the MS dominated with beam powered weapons such as beam rifle, beam cannon, anti ship sword, etc. The overall design in this timeline is unlimited. Everything can be applied for the design even the impossible one like GN Drive. How come an egg shaped unit can emit particles and give propulsion to the MS. However, that factor give an interest point for the people. The character design is different for each series. 

The battle usually dominated by three factions, the earth federation, the space colony and the neutral. Usually the neutral is the main character that will eliminate both space and earth fraction. The kind of new type human also exists in this timeline. Usually the eyes are colored with bright color and the hair is not a normal human hair. As usual, the new type is better than normal human. The existence of the angelic character also comes in this timeline.
