Hail Bootleg: HG 1/144 Gundam X Maoh (Huiyan Model) Review Part 1

Hello bootleg lovers, today we’ll be looking at the High Grade Gundam X Maoh from Gundam Build Fighters. Yes this is a new kit from a new brand coming to bootleg gunpla world which is said to be a challenger to Daban Model. The first product is surprising enough. As we know, the original kit is still new but this company has the access to copy the product. That’s a very good news for bootleg lovers because the GBF line will be released by this company. And you know what, the quality of this kit is amazing. How amazing it is? Check it out!

UNBOXING

Well, the boxart is almost the same as the original. There are 2 plastic bags and a manual inside the box. So less scratches will be find on the runners, but still dust covering the plastic bags. Unfortunately the manual is in Chinese instead of English which is bothering me because I cannot read Chinese :P

RUNNERS

The runners are a little bit dusty and need to be cleaned first. We can see from the runners that the quality of molding is very good. We also get some leftover parts from Gundam X. The clear green runner is shown yellow in the picture but actually it is green. The quality of plastic is very good. It’s not too hard like on Gao Gao kits. As you see, the cut of the stickers is good enough. I applied some of them and the stickiness is good. One thing I want to mention, this kit is the 2^nd kit I bought. The first one didn’t have the clear green runner in it. So make sure to check the runners first before you buy it.

PARTS

Head

Everything on the head is snapfitted easily. The face mask is good enough although it should be a little bit higher in my opinion. The eyes sticker is the only sticker that’s not cut well, but it’s okay because the molding of the eyes itself is perfect. So if you want, you can directly color the eyes. There should be black stickers on the side of the head but I don’t put it on.

Torso

The body also easily snapfitted. The polycaps are amazing. They are as soft as the original. I don’t know what they do with it but you will never face difficulties in snapfitting parts together with polycaps inside.

Arms

The arms are very good. But the stickers are too many I think. And the stickers on the shoulders are not perfectly fit. Maybe it’s my fault but both of them are symmetrical and I cannot put them on neatly. There is a problem that the original has too, the hands are loose.

Waist

There is no problem when assembling the skirts. They’re well designed too.

Legs

The legs also very good.Unfortunately some panel lines are not that neat. Still so many stickers on this part. The annoying ones are on the side of the legs. The stickers cover the parts that will be touched by our fingertips to open the parts. They will be easily scratched off.

Backpack

The backpack has 4 big stickers for the satellite panels. It can be opened up just like on the show.

Weapons and Accessories

We got a lot of weapons for this kit. There is the beam rifle that can be changed to be a shield. But we get the different form instead of transform it. We also get an open left hand and a bent left hand to hold the Hyper Satellite Cannon. Of course, we get the Hyper Satellite Cannon which is modified a little bit from the original Gundam X. So you can change it to the original form if you like. And the last is the beam saber effect part.
