HG 1/144 Tieren Ground Type (Gao Gao / TT Hongli) Review Part 1

Hello bootleg lovers, today we’ll be looking at the High Grade Tieren Ground Type from the 1^st season of Gundam 00. This MS is the mass produced MS so we have seen this MS bullied by the Gundam. But still this kit is very nice. Because this kit is the 1^st season 00 model, the reproduction made by Gao Gao still not as good as the 2ns season. But still it’s better than the older ones like Seed Destiny series.

UNBOXING

This kit has a little bit better boxart than the 2^nd season of gundam 00. If we saw the Exia R2 review, the upper line is only blue. In the 1^st season kits, the line is like on the original, which is very nice. Although it still lack of the Gundam 00 text colored in gold in the upper right corner due to copyright issues. On the side there is only the standing pose of Tieren. The box comes with only 1 plastic bag as usual. The runners might be scratched each other. It also comes with the English – Chinese manual book.

RUNNERS

Well, as usual in 00 series Gao Gao give us doff/matte finish which is very good for a military type kits like Tieren. The mold is pretty good. This kit comes with the normal polycaps runner comes with HG.

PARTS

Head and Torso

This head and the torso designed to be together. So that’s why I make it in one section. Yes, this kit has monoeye that can be rotated. But first we need to remove the helmet to rotate the eye. Unfortunately the sticker is so bad, so I cannot give a color to the eye. The building process in this part is quite challenging. The polycaps are not that good. It doesn’t fit well with the hole in on the part. However, the plastic to plastic snapfit is pretty straight forward. I apologize for the inappropriate background in the pictures.

Arms

As I said on the head and torso section, the problem is on the polycaps. I haven’t done anything to make the visible gaps in the lower arms disappear. Maybe it’s about the pegs that a lil bit longer.

Waist

The waist is very easy to build. We got a little bit excess plastic on the front skirt.

Legs

The leg is very bulky. And I got the same problem, that is the polycaps. I needed to trim the peg on the hip joint so that it can be snapped in to the black part. I also trimmed the polycap in the knee joint to make it able to be snapped in together but still there is a little bit of gaps. The back foot also a little bit loose on mine.

Weapons and Accessories

For being a mass produced MS, this kit has a pretty good weapons. The smooth bore gun is very nice. And the carbon blade looks good. The kit comes with the open right hand, unusual for a High Grade. And the shield to be mounted on the leg is made from 2 layer of plastic, very sturdy.

Stickers

Unfortunately I got the very bad sticker on this kit. It’s like already lose its stickiness. So I couldn’t use it.

STANDArt POSE

Pretty nice ground type MS. It reminds me of Wanzers in Front Mission video games.

VERDICT

So yeah, this kit is really solid and sturdy. The building process also different with the normal gundam. For the articulation, let’s continue to the part 2. See you in the next post :)
