There are 10 reasons why we should buy bootleg gunpla. This is not taken from any polling. It is pure from my observation, experience and opinion. So I’m happy if you agree with me :)
1. Price
This is the most important reason why we buy a bootleg gunpla. Buying a cheap thing doesn’t mean we don’t have money (my wallet doubt it ;p). The price is much cheaper than the original (well, not all of them actually). We can get almost half of the original price. For example, the latest release of Daban Model Master Grade Nu Gundam ver.Ka. The price is only about IDR 400.000 while the Bandai is about IDR 800.000. And the High Grade like Destiny only cost IDR 80.000. We can save our money to buy other model or upgrade our tools.
2. Repaint Dummy
Well, a lot of people like to repaint their gunpla to make it better or maybe worse. Yes, we can use bootleg gunpla to test our color scheme and paint quality before we tried it on the original one. Do we have the heart to buy a Bandai Gunpla just to test our paint quality?

3. Kitbash Concept
For people who like kitbash, it is better to buy the bootleg first to test if the kitbash concept is good rather than buy the original then regret that the concept is not working well.
4. Unique Item
What I mean with unique item is the item that we can’t afford in the original. For example, MG Tallgeese III that never been made by Bandai. A bootleg company named Dragon Momoko made this model based on Tallgeese II which is a limited item from Bandai.

5. Stiffness
I don’t know why I put this reason, but this is what I get from my Gunpla collection. The joints on my bootleg kits are so stiff. I like it, because when I played it so much or pose it with some heavy poses, the stiffness can help. I do have HG Sengoku Astray and I feel a little bit disappointed with the stiffness of the ankle joints. I didn’t do anything but a straight standing pose and after some time it fell off forward because the ankle cannot hold it well. But my other bootleg kits did it well.
6. Discontinued Item
For some maniacs who love to buy old released kit, it can be a good reason. Some old kits have already discontinued by Bandai and some of them still produced by bootleg company.
7. Replacement Part
By loving our gunpla so much, sometimes we bring our kit on the bed and ask it to sing a song for us.(what?) and accidentally, our butt land onto its face and (*crack... Whoa! The v fin is broken! We got panicked and accidentally(again) our leg kick it and it fell off from the bed and some parts pop off and flew away into another dimension under the bed and nobody can find it. Not a good story of course. But with bootleg gunpla we can use the part to replace the broken and missing parts
8. Bonus
Bootleg companies love to give bonuses in their products usually the 1st batch. Gao Gao Master Grade kits like Wing series have bonus on the 1st batch, like MG Heavy Arms + metal thrusters and ammo clip, MG Sandrock + sand cloak and so on. Daban also did it in their Master Grade kits like 00 raiser + 5 LED, Nu ver.Ka + double fin funnel and red psychoframe and so on, also in their HGUC kits like Unicorn Destroy Mode + Head Base and Gattling Gun.

9. Resin to Plastic
Some modeler who don’t like resin kit always hoping it converted to plastic. Bootleg companies love to do it like Hi-Nu Evo from Gogo.

10. Manual Book
Some of us always curious with the weapon in our kit like how this thing works, what is the specifications and so on. The original manual book has this information but it is written in Japanese. Bootleg’s manual book translate it into English and Chinese although sometimes the translation is bad but at least we can understand it.
So, that's all the reasons to buy bootleg gunpla. Of course, the reasons will be different for each person. Feel free to comment if you have any more reasons. See ya!
Nice 1 bro (y)
