HG 1/144 Tieren Ground Type (Gao Gao / TT Hongli) Review Part 2

Hello bootleg lovers, let’s continue the review to the articulation for this Tieren Ground Type. I’ve made a video for this part so we can know clearly how the articulation on this kit. You can watch the video separately in the provided link. Unlike my previous reviews, I took separate pictures not from the video so that we can clearly see how the articulation is. So let’s start.

Head

The head is not articulated. It’s just stationary. I wonder if the head can rotate, it will be awkward. So I think it’s not really a flaw. Just like any other monoeyed mobile suits, the eye can be rotated. But to do it, we need to take off the helmet first which is not good because it might make the peg loose.

Torso

The torso is very good. As you can see, it has a unique design, so the articulation also unique. The chest can move forward and because the cylindrical design of the middle part, it looks very mecha-ish with the rotation sort of.

The waist has a joint to move the body back and forth. But it’s loose on mine, and I think I cannot fix it, because it is a polycap which cannot be glued, I think. I haven’t tried it yet, though.

And it also rotates on the waist. Once again, the cylindrical design of the waist just make the movement becomes so cool.

Arms

The arms are pretty good. They can rotate all the way around on the shoulders, rotate below the shoulders and swing out about 45 degrees.

They also bend 90degrees on the elbows. The hands are on ball joints so they can wiggle and rotate. And the flaps or hand guards can move.

 Legs

The legs are so bulky but it will not hinder the movement. The black parts between the waist and the legs have 2 joints, first is the ball joints connected to the waist and a swivel joint on the calf. So the legs can be moved down to make them more articulated.

With that kind of joint, the legs can split pretty far, which is good for a bulky ground type mobile suit.

The legs also move forward and back as usual but they need to be on angle to move.

They bend on the knees on 2 joints, very good.

The feet are normal, nothing special. So they can move side to side, forward and back on the ankles and also rotates on the ball joints.

Well, this kit makes our mind about bulky mobile suits changed. The articulation is pretty good and it has some unique joints that need to be tried on other mobile suits. Everything is stiff on this kit, Gao Gao typical. Only one joint that loose on mine, which I think it’s my fault when I built it. This kit has a good combination of plastic to plastic joints and polycaps joints.
So that’s it about the articulation. As usual the review will not be finished on this part. I will give my final verdict and scoring about this kit. So see you in the next review. :)
