HG 1/144 Union Flag (Gao Gao / TT Hongli) Review Part 2

Hello bootleg lovers, let’s continue the review to the articulation for this Union Flag. I’ve made a video for this part so we can know clearly how the articulation on this kit. You can watch the video separately in the provided link. Unlike my previous reviews, I took separate pictures from the video. So let’s start.
Head

The head has a ball joint that I already modified that makes it a little bit loose. So actually it’s not loose. But the thing is, the articulation is limited. It only goes side to side, but cannot rotate at all. I don’t know is it the flaw from Gao Gao or from the original design, because the boxart shows that the head can rotate to the right.

Torso

The torso is very good. Of course because the MS is a transformer, so the articulation is awesome. It can go up and down pretty far on a swivel joint on the stomach. As I said in the first part, the stomach is hard to put on and the joint hardly moves so that I need to modify it to make it moves. And now it’s move easily.

Then the waist also rotates all the way around. Unfortunately the wings hinder the movement a bit.

Arms

The shoulder armor move separately and the arms are on ball joints so they can rotate only half way ,though and go out not that much. The arms also bend on the elbow joints and rotate above the elbows. But I find that rotating the arm makes the arm popped off from the ball joint. Sometimes the rotation above the elbow works, sometimes it also easily popped off. Do take note that I also modified the rotation joints to make it easily move. Because if I didn’t modified it, the arm will not rotate at all.

The hands also pretty good. By having ball joints, it can rotate and wiggle but also move in due to the design of the hand.

Legs

The legs have unique joint for the transformation. They have swivel on each leg and also ball joints. The swivel makes it moves forward and back more. We can use it as normal joint or just use it for the transformation. The ball joints are facing forward, not side so they can make the legs split nicely.

The knee bends on a single joint only 90 degrees.

The ankle only one joint, no additional ankle joint like any other High Grades. So it only goes forward and back a little and rotates.

Wings

The wings are important for this MS. The upper wings can move individually and the lower move together. I also modified the peg to make it can be snapped in.

So yeah, the articulation is pretty good. Some parts are actually very stiff but I loosen them. So that’s it about the articulation. And the review will not be finished on this part. I will give my final verdict and scoring about this kit. So see you in the next review. :)
