HG 1/144 Gundam X Maoh (Huiyan Model) Review Part 3

This is the last part of the review of HG 1/144 Gundam X Maoh from Huiyan Model. After we know the details of each part we can conclude whether this kit is good or not.

Mold
The mold is amazing, No excess plastic on this kit. I look at every edge on this kit and they are perfectly shaped.

Color
The color representation is very good. There is no more dull color on this kit.

Detail
Every detail on this kit is so good. I can say that the panel lines also as narrow as the original except on the legs.

Snapfit
There is nothing to say for the snapfit. Everything is perfectly fine.

Sticker
The sticker on this kit is very good. It’s well cut, perfect coloring and nice stickiness. It also as thin as the original, unlike the Dragon Momoko’s that a little bit thicker.

Face mask
The face mask and the eyes shape are good. But the face mask should be a little bit higher.

Stiffness
Everything is not that stiff. Maybe the ‘perfect’ polycaps also affect negatively to the solidness on this kit.

Finish
The finish is smooth doff which is very good.

Articulation
The details of the articulation has been discussed on the part 2, so overall articulation is normal. This kit doesn’t need amazing articulation because it’s not a melee fighter.

Playability
Along with the gimmick of each weapon it has, we can imagine how good this kit will be played. The movie itself also affects the playability with the shining parts which are applied as light purple stickers on the actual kit.

So this is the score I give for each aspect.

HG 1/144 Gundam X Maoh (Huiyan Model) Review Part 1

Hello bootleg lovers, today we’ll be looking at the High Grade Gundam X Maoh from Gundam Build Fighters. Yes this is a new kit from a new brand coming to bootleg gunpla world which is said to be a challenger to Daban Model. The first product is surprising enough. As we know, the original kit is still new but this company has the access to copy the product. That’s a very good news for bootleg lovers because the GBF line will be released by this company. And you know what, the quality of this kit is amazing. How amazing it is? Check it out!

Model Kit Statistics
Name: Gundam X Maoh
Manufacturer: Huiyan Model
Price: IDR 130.000

UNBOXING

Well, the boxart is almost the same as the original. There are 2 plastic bags and a manual inside the box. So less scratches will be find on the runners, but still dust covering the plastic bags. Unfortunately the manual is in Chinese instead of English which is bothering me because I cannot read Chinese :P

RUNNERS

The runners are a little bit dusty and need to be cleaned first. We can see from the runners that the quality of molding is very good. We also get some leftover parts from Gundam X. The clear green runner is shown yellow in the picture but actually it is green. The quality of plastic is very good. It’s not too hard like on Gao Gao kits. As you see, the cut of the stickers is good enough. I applied some of them and the stickiness is good. One thing I want to mention, this kit is the 2nd kit I bought. The first one didn’t have the clear green runner in it. So make sure to check the runners first before you buy it.

PARTS

Head

Everything on the head is snapfitted easily. The face mask is good enough although it should be a little bit higher in my opinion. The eyes sticker is the only sticker that’s not cut well, but it’s okay because the molding of the eyes itself is perfect. So if you want, you can directly color the eyes. There should be black stickers on the side of the head but I don’t put it on.

Torso

The body also easily snapfitted. The polycaps are amazing. They are as soft as the original. I don’t know what they do with it but you will never face difficulties in snapfitting parts together with polycaps inside.

Arms

The arms are very good. But the stickers are too many I think. And the stickers on the shoulders are not perfectly fit. Maybe it’s my fault but both of them are symmetrical and I cannot put them on neatly. There is a problem that the original has too, the hands are loose.

Waist

There is no problem when assembling the skirts. They’re well designed too.

Legs

The legs also very good.Unfortunately some panel lines are not that neat. Still so many stickers on this part. The annoying ones are on the side of the legs. The stickers cover the parts that will be touched by our fingertips to open the parts. They will be easily scratched off.

Backpack

The backpack has 4 big stickers for the satellite panels. It can be opened up just like on the show.

Weapons and Accessories

We got a lot of weapons for this kit. There is the beam rifle that can be changed to be a shield. But we get the different form instead of transform it. We also get an open left hand and a bent left hand to hold the Hyper Satellite Cannon. Of course, we get the Hyper Satellite Cannon which is modified a little bit from the original Gundam X. So you can change it to the original form if you like. And the last is the beam saber effect part.

Standart Pose

This kit just blew me away in term of details and quality. So how about the articulation? Let’s see in the part 2.

HG 1/144 Gundam X Maoh (Huiyan Model) Review Part 2

Hello bootleg lovers, let’s continue the review to the articulation. As we know before, the polycaps are soft and perfectly fit. So what we expect is the joints are not too stiff like Gao Gao kits.

Head

The neck is double ball jointed so the head can go up pretty far, down, forward and back. It also rotates all the way around

Torso

There are joints on the side of the torso for the shoulders so that they can move forward. The stomach has a ball joint so it can move a little bit. The waist also ball jointed and it’s pretty stiff enough so you won’t pop the body off when you move it.

Arms

The arms are on ball joints so they can rotates all the way around and wiggle a bit. The upper arms can rotate just like any other HG. The elbow is on a one joint only. The hands are loose as I said before.

Skirt

The front skirts are connected together but you can separate them, they are on ball joints. The side skirt is on a hinge. The back skirt doesn’t move at all.

Legs

There is a separate joint form the waist so the legs can move up and down and forward and back separate from the waist. The legs are on ball joints and can split so far but the ankles cannot support it.

The knees only one jointed. The foot guards can wiggle a bit. The foot has normal ankle joint so it can go up and down on the upper joint, and side to side and rotate a bit on the ball joint.

So overall articulation is normal on this kit. It’s not amazing but it supports the shooting pose nicely. Everything is not too stiff which will make us forget that it is a bootleg. So that’s it about the articulation. I will give my final verdict and scoring about this kit. So stay tuned for that.
