HG 1/144 Gundam AGE 1 Normal (Dragon Momoko) Review Part 3

This is the last part of the review of HG 1/144 Gundam AGE 1 Normal from Dragon Momoko. After we know the details of each part we can conclude whether this kit is good or not.

Mold
No, no excess plastic on this kit. I don’t know why Dragon Momoko can make a very good mold while Gao Gao cannot. I look at every edges on this kit and they are perfectly shaped. The mold is amazing.

Color
Compared to the Bandai one, this kit has duller color especially on the blue and red. The yellow looks a little bit orangey. I think the dull color it gets is because of the matte finish. The beam saber effect that should be pink looks a little bit purple.

Detail
The detail on this kit is pretty good. The panel lines on this kit are not many. The details on this kit dominated by dots and strips. Basically this kit looks complicated not because of the panel lines but the shape of each part. So this kit has so many plain parts but the overall looks are not plain.

Snapfit
Well, the snapfit from plastic to plastic is very good but the polycaps to plastic is just terrible. As stated in the first part, the hole and the peg don’t fit each other.

Sticker
The sticker on this kit is perfect. It’s well cut, perfect coloring and nice stickiness. Although I think the sticker is a little bit thicker compared to the original.

Face mask
Oh yeah, the face mask and overall mold and details on the head are perfect. Dragon Momoko do the v fin sharper so it looks better.

Stiffness
The thing is the hard snapfitted polycaps doesn’t make the joints that stiff. Yes they’re stiff but not as stiff as the Exia Repair 2. The only stiff joints in this kit are the rotation joints on below the shoulders and the torso to shoulder joints. So overall this kit has good stiffnes because it’s not loose and not too stiff. And about the easily popped off parts, this kit has just a few such as the beam saber handle on the side skirt and the left hand.

Finish
The finish is mostly matte but the skirts and the grey parts are semi gloss just like the original which is good. I wonder why they didn’t make the semi gloss finish on this kit because it would be better I think.

Articulation
The details of the articulation has been discussed on the part 2, so overall articulation is very good. Yes, it’s new kit so it should have good articulation. And the backpack is only thruster and spoiler, so it will not hinder the articulation.

Playability
Well, because the weaponry is normal, the playability is normal. But because the articulation is very good, the playability will be improved. The beam sabers also affect the playability more.

So this is the scores I give for each aspect.
