HG 1/144 Gundam Exia Repair 2 (Gao Gao / TT Hongli) Review Part 3

Hello bootleg lovers, this is the last part of the review of HG 1/144 Gundam Exia Repair 2 from Gao Gao. After we know the details of each part we can conclude whether this kit is good or not.

Mold
I found so many bad mold on this kit especially on some edges. The edges have excess plastic just a little though. But a little means not perfect. But still it’s an easy task to make it better, just trim it a little or use sand paper to remove it. If we read the first part of this review, on the runner section, the new runner that included as new part for Repair 2 has different quality with the original runner from old exia. The quality is worse and it looks a little bit rougher and the panel lines are wider.

Color
From my observation, the color looks a little bit duller but I think it’s caused by the matte finish. Not all of the color are dull though, only the blue and the yellow. The others are okay.

Detail
As stated before in the mold section, the panel lines on new parts like the lower arms, shoulder, and legs are wider than the old Exia parts.

Snapfit
This kit has some hard snapfit like on the legs and the feet. Other than that is okay. As usual, we can trim the peg or widen the hole to make the snapfit easier.

Sticker
As I said in the first part, the eyes sticker is bad in term of cutting. Other stickers are so so and the black stickers on the condensers are a little bit wider than the hole of the condenser so they are not good. And the white sticker for the shield is not white, it’s more yellowish I think.

Face mask
Well, the face mask is good but it still lacks of precision of molding especially on the eyes part. The groove for the eyes should be sharp edges but they’re a little bit roundish. And on mine the position of the chin is a little bit on the right, not perfectly centered.

Stiffness
As I said before that some parts have hard snapfit, that’s good for the stiffness. Because this kit implement some plastic to plastic joints like on the head and the hands, those parts are loose. Other than that, everything is stiff and solid. The joints also very stiff especially on the legs.

Finish
I don’t know what happen with the machine Gao Gao has but the finishing is inconsistently distributed. Most of the parts have matte finish but some parts like the yellow parts, red parts and some of the white are glossy. So yeah for the matte finished part, they got harder snapfit and better stiffness.

Articulation
The details of the articulation has been discussed on the part 2, so overall articulation is good. Plus, this kit has no backpack so there is no obstruction for the articulation.

Playability
As we see in part 1, It has the old Exia’s weaponry. So we can use the long and short sword and we can replace the GN Drive with the normal one. With that, the playability of this kit has increased. But unfortunately we cannot deploy the 7swords system because of the lack of beam saber.

So this is the scores I give for each aspect.
