HG 1/144 Destiny Gundam (Gao Gao / TT Hongli) Review Part 3

Hello bootleg lovers, this is the last part of the review of HG 1/144 Destiny Gundam from Gao Gao. After we know the details of each part we can conclude whether this kit is good or not.

Mold
The mold of this kit is actually pretty good. I love to look at my kits closely and see how the detail and the mold of them. This kit is pretty good I can say. No excess plastic I found before and after building this kit. Some off molding is barely noticeable like on the handle of the cannon.

Color
Hmm. At a glance sometimes we cannot decide whether the color of the kit is the same as the original or not but if we look at it when it placed side by side with the original, we can decide it. So I think this kit has a good color representation. The blue is so vibrant, very nice. The white also looks nice. So overall is good.

Detail
The detail on this kit pretty good. The panel lines are wider as usual but other details are intact.

Snapfit
Actually I was pretty surprised when building this kit. The snapfit was so good. Not as good as Bandai of course, but my friend’s words about the bad snapfit of seed line now can be denied. So yeah, 8/10 is enough.

Sticker
As usual, the sticker of Gao Gao HG kits is not good. I can still apply the eyes sticker though. But the color quality of the sticker is questionable. When I look at it, it’s like easily to fade if we rub it.

Face mask
Yes, 4/10. The face is not like gundam face. It’s like GM’s, especially in the eyes. Yeah, maybe if we like the combination of GM’s eyes and gundam chin, we can buy this kit XD.

Stiffness
In term of the part that easily popped off, this kit has so many such as hand covers, arm covers, vfin, boomerang handles, and black parts on the wings. It’s so annoying when we want to pose it. Those parts always want to pop off. A little bit of superglue might work.
And in term of the stiffness of the joints, the polycaps work well but the plastic to plastic like the hinge on the ankle is loose on mine.

Finish
This kit has glossy finish on every single piece of plastic. But the gloss is too much I think. If we compare to Bandai kits, they have semi gloss finish. So yeah, you can imagine how glossy this kit is. I don’t know what should I say whether it is good or not but I think it has contribution on the easy snapfit we get. Because of the glossy pegs, the snapfit is rather easy.

Articulation
You can see the detail of articulation review on HG1/144 Destiny Gundam (Gao Gao) Review Part 2. Overall articulation is normal considering this kit is an old kit. It’s hindered mostly in the leg. Other than that is a normal articulation for a HG although the new ones like AGE series have double jointed elbow.

Playability
Yeaaah. The playability of this kit is superb. We got so many weapons and effect parts. We can make this kit wield so many kinds of weapon. For example this week I’d like to pose this kit using the beam boomerangs, next week the long sword, next two weeks the cannon and so on. We have freedom to choose the weapon to be wield by this kit.

This is the scores I give for each aspect. See My Scoring to know how I give the scores.

So we get 7.2 for the final score of this kit. Actually overall is good but the face mask and the sticker make the final score worse. So this kit is still worth to buy. If you have any question feel free to ask on the comment section below. See you again in the next posts :)
